...my Passion Flower has finished flowering...

...but I find it's spiral tendrils just as beautiful...

     

...and did you know the symbolism of the different floral parts :...

...the five petals and five sepals taken together represent the ten faithful apostles...
...(excluding St Peter the denier and Judas the betrayer)...

...the flower's radial filaments or corona represent the crown of thorns...

...the three stigmas represent the three nails and the five anthers the five wounds...
...(four by nails and one by the lance)...

...and the tendrils represent the whips used in the flagellation of Christ...

...This morning we ventured back to the river to sail our boats...

...Lots of fun and to be honest a little more successful than I had imagined...

...my preteens boat setting sail...

...and mine following a little way behind...

...After spending a couple of hours yesterday tidying the garden I think today I will just sit...

...Soaking up some sunshine and sneeking some 'me' time...

...This morning we woke to grey skies and rain...

...So...inspired by our walk along the river, we looked out our craft box and built boats using lolly sticks and the hot glue gun...

...Our finished boats...

...If my preeteen ( formally known as TD and now aged almost 12 years) had his way he would spend the next six weeks hooked up to either his Xbox, Ipad or the computer...

...So today I have persuaded him to venture into the great outdooors for a stroll along the river...

...Another school holiday has officially begun with blue skies and the promise of sunshine...

...We have no real plans for the next six weeks so I'm excited to see where the summer leads us...

...So it has been a while...a whole three years in fact...

...What's new...?...

...Well I am still a busy single Mum to two amazing boys...

...(now aged eighteen and almost twelve)...

...We have survived a house move...

...sadly said our final Goodbyes to one of our beautiful cats...

 ...and have welcomed a new house guest in the form of an African Pygmy Hedgehog...

...Some days are still a little more wonderful than others...

...and some days it really does feel like I am 'Swimming Through Custard'...
